Constance Hotels & Resorts hosts Bernard Luazo Culinary Festival

The annual culinary competition of the highest level, which was held from March 17 to 25, brought together 6 of the best chefs, Michelin stars in the luxury Constance Belle Mare Plage, on the island of Mauritius. Here they met and paired up with renowned chefs from the Constance & Resorts network, who underwent a rigorous selection by the jury and flew specially from Maldives and Seychelles for the occasion. This year's winner was the tandem of Michelin-starred Chef Michael Reis and Constance Ephelia Seychelles Chef Arshil Soopun!

Together, these professional tandems created original dishes, which were later presented to the jury. The jury evaluated the cook's ability to use local ingredients and spices in the process of creating a culinary masterpiece. Thus, the hotels of Constance Hotels and Resorts try to maintain the uniqueness and originality of their cuisine, as well as the professionalism of their chefs.

Like previous competitions, this year's event allowed us to combine gourmet cuisine and cooking in the Indian Ocean.

Also during the Bernard Loiseau festival, restaurant professionals, sommeliers, bartenders, baking specialists and waiters got the opportunity to compete among themselves and improve their skills. The gastronomic adventure has become an unforgettable event for both its participants and guests.

Competition Jury

The jury was led by Mrs. Dominique Loiseau, General Director of the Bernard Loiseau Group, and Vice President of the Relais & Chateaux chain of charming gourmet hotels and restaurants. Together with her, the competition was rated by Patrick Bertron, the successor to Mr. Loisot, David Moore, the founder of the famous two-star Michelin-starred restaurant Pied a Terre, Tereza Nemecek, the organizer of wine events from the Czech Republic, Harald Wolfart (Harald Wohlfahrt) is a chef from Germany, winner of three Michelin stars, and Tommy Myllymaki is a star chef from Sweden.
