Great photos that won the Environmental Photographer of the Year
The Environmental Photographer of the Year contest rewards those who use their work to document the state of the planet. This year, the jury received works from 89 countries. In the end, five photographers were selected as winners in different categories, thanks to their powerful shots and high-end performance.
The main prize was received by Iranian photographer Said Mohammadzadeh for an incredible picture of an abandoned ship, mired in the salt of the evaporating lake Urmia. Beautiful, but frightening photographs, show a lethal combination of climate change and the devastating effect on the nature of human activity.
Below is the work of the triumph of the contest, as well as winners in other categories.
