Ancient wonders of Egypt and its inhabitants in the 1800s in the photographs of the Zangaki brothers
About two Greek photographers, the Zangaki brothers, actively filming ancient Egyptian ruins, as well as the vibrant Cairo and Port Said, very little information has been preserved to date. And their photographs from the time of the Victorian era meanwhile represent valuable historical material.
The pictures were taken during the years 1870-1890 and at that time were very popular among Europeans captured by Egyptomania. They depict not only the ancient sights of Egypt, but also the inhabitants of that time.
