22 endangered animals
On March 20 of this year, at the age of 45, the last male northern white rhino named Sudan died. The animal, which was named after its homeland, lived under the protection of an armed guard at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya. In recent months, the rhino suffered from a degenerative disease of the muscles and bones, so it was euthanized.
Fortunately, scientists were able to collect genetic material that one day can be used to restore the species of northern white rhinos with IVF. In addition, Sudan left behind a daughter and granddaughter, so there is hope that we will still see these magnificent animals.
Nevertheless, there are many other species and subspecies of animals that are in danger of disappearing from the face of the earth forever. Today we present to you a sad list of the World Wide Fund for Nature, which includes animals that are on the verge of extinction.
